THE SOMNAMBULISTS

2014

82 minutes

In 2047 on an underground base on the moon, a new drug, Somnambula, allows people to live without sleep. No one sleeps, yet everyone is a type of somnambulist susceptible to suggestion and manipulation. Bruno Flowers, a former circus performer, in search of the other half of his act, a boy named Falcis, finds himself encountering the mysterious inventor of Somnambula, Gary Kali, a man who can seemingly control others with his mind. At the heart of Flowers' search is a secret that he has buried, and which he must confront. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

The Somnambulists premiered at the Independent  Filmmakers Showcase in Los Angeles in 2015 where it won Best Animated Film, and was screened at The Columbia Gorge International Film Festival (Washougal, WA) and at Livingroom Theaters in Portland in conjunction with an exhibition of drawings from the film at Augen Gallery. The Somnambulists was also recognized for its screenplay at the Back in the Box Competition.
