THE WOMAN AND THE APE

2012

60 minutes

The Woman and the Ape was my first feature film, made like an old serial in six short installments designed for You Tube. Set in a traveling circus in the 1920's American midwest, the film is a love square between Tina, a circus acrobat, her jealous husband, Oswald, his gorilla, Samson, and a side-show barker named Frederick .  Music by Kevin MacLeod.

The film was screened at Livingroom Theaters in Portland in conjunction with an exhibition  at Augen Gallery of drawings from the film and paintings inspired by the film.
